Ford Fusion Phasing Out and Figo In PDF Print E-mail

India has become the center of attraction of most of the world leading auto powers. Many international car makers are changing their strategy towards Indian auto market and Ford's entry in the small car segment of Indian auto market is quite spectacular.

Ford, the US car maker, is planning to phase out their hatchback car, Ford Fusion, from the Indian market and they all set for introducing Ford Figo in the small car segment with competitive price. Recently, they invested $500 million in the Ford India to expand their business in the Indian auto market and it has been announced that 90% of the fund has already been utilized and still more plan for incremental investments.

The Ford Figo will be launching in India in the month of March (Next Month) and this may bring a great chance in the Indian automobile market. Currently this segment is mainly dominating by Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors but now Ford is planning to introduce a series of cars in the next 12-18 months.

Their Chennai Plant is already set to start their production and to flood the Indian auto market with the Ford Figo. As a strategy to expand their business in India, they have already raised around 165 dealers in different cities of India and also to able to provide the new car, Ford Figo, they have localized most of the parts.

Ford Figo will come in both Diesel and Petrol engine as diesel vehicle is of great demand in some cities of India. The petrol engine is 1200cc and the diesel engine is 1400cc which is quite an attractive figure for the small car segment. And Ford Figo will also be exported in South Africa and some Asian countries.
