Toyota's is in the complete chaos to repair their defect and satisfy the complaints from the customers. They are now in the position that they must change and solve the defects in 8 millions vehi cles globally which is a figure which is even greater than their annual sale of 2009. Most of the complaints and returns of the vehicles are due to the problems in pedals and accelerators.

Few months ago, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Ltd vice-chairman Vikram Kirloskar, assured that they will be launching Toyota Prius in the Indian market even though the time line is yet to set. In one side, they are facing the problems of complaints and market problems and in other side, they are entering the fight for the green vehicle in India and world wide.

In India, Honda is also planning for the hybrid vehicle in the current Civic model. If Toyota can launch Prius in India after this market problem, they could be a close competitor to the Honda Civic hybrid. Even though Toyota Prius would be in the expensive upfront, it will be beneficial in the long run due to low maintenance cost and good mileage of the vehicle.

In North America and Japan, many brake problems and complaints are reported for Toyota Prius. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in US such 100 complaints have already been received for Toyota Prius. This is the greatest lost of this car maker and also it drives the people crazy as how such a greatest automobile industry leader could make such mistake.
